Phillip Mills grew up in Cascade, Idaho. He began building houses, in 1984, while in high school. After graduating in 1985 he later attended the University of Idaho. In 1988 Phillip joined the Idaho Air National Guard. He attended Tech School at Keeler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi were he met Tami. The two were later married and now have two children; Matthew is 17 years old and Keelie is 4 years old.
Phillip became a full time member of the Air National Guard, where he did several tours all around the world, including Saudi Arabia and Turkey. In 1999 he was hired on at Hewlett Packard as an engineer. During that year while working full time at HP, part time at the Air National Guard and attending to school full time at BSU Phillip built his first home in the Bayhill subdivision. In 2000 Phillip graduated from BSU, with Bachelor’s Degree, he graduated from Officer Training Academy in 2002, and in 2003 Tamarack Custom Homes, Inc was formed.
In October of 2003 Tamarack’s first and only spec home was built. It was a wonderful success and a huge stepping stone for a dream come true. Tamarack Custom Homes became a member of the SRVBCA in 2005.
During his “spare time” he enjoys spending it with his family boating, flying, hunting, going to movies or just relaxing. The most wonderful aspect about Phillip is that everything he does is for his family. Although he works long hours day after day, he never lets his family forget that they come first.
In December 2006 Phillip resigned from HP. He is now a Captain at the Idaho Air National Guard while building several homes a year in the Treasure Valley and McCall areas. He continues to challenge himself and succeeds. With very little time on his hands, he is pleased to have successfully designed and built his Second and Third Parade Home.
